Creating your dream wedding look – whether you’re investing in an alternative wedding dress, a designer or a high street wedding dress – is serious business, and that includes your wedding shoes. Much like your main outfit, you might want to pick a style that you can re-wear after the big day, and this is where my handy little guide comes in.
Designer wedding shoes
Many brides choose to invest in a designer piece for their wedding, and why not? Especially if you go for designer wedding shoes that will go with your existing wardrobe. If you’re a fan of Sex And The City, you can’t go wrong with Manolo Blahnik’s bejewelled pumps, which come in an array of covetable hues. Jimmy Choo and Christian Louboutin offer some great classic styles for the low-key brides, while jaw-dropping heels by Simone Rocha or Prada will have you looking runway ready in no time. Look to Jacquemus, Bottega Venetta and Gucci for unexpected shapes and details.

The style made famous by Carrie Bradshaw is a classic that stands the test of time.
High street wedding shoes
If you don’t have the budget, don’t worry. Spending a fortune isn’t a necessity either as the likes of & Other Stories, Zara, Ted Baker and L.K.Bennett have plenty of styles to suit all tastes, from strappy white sandals to metallic heels and pastel shades, including that all-important ‘something blue’.
Comfortable wedding shoes
Obviously, comfort is key, especially if you want a style that’ll see you from the ceremony right through to the dance floor. You can of course go down the flat route, since there are many bejewelled or satin styles that will look dressy enough for the big day.
Kitten heels are also a great elegant and timeless option, and most big designers have low-heel shoes that you’ll love to wear again. Don’t discard platforms because they’re high either. The nature of the style makes them super comfortable, in fact Nicola Peltz wore a Valentino pair to match her wedding dress. Plus, they’re very on-trend for SS22 and a great way to add some height to your look.
